Now I want to talk about Kombucha. Which is obviously entirely unrelated to those Banana Oatmeal Cookies, but I understand you won't obey.

Let me begin by stating that my husband drinks apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water every morning to decrease inflammation or something like this.

He claims it's magical. I claim it is nasty.

While I know this will seem dramatic (because it is)I literally dry heave at the sight and odor of his early ritual on a daily basis. He loves that around me.

Depending upon this reaction, one would believe I would stay far away from Kombucha, directly? I mean, after all, it surely has a vinegary tang.

However, for some reason, I keep trying it. I want to enjoy it SO DANG BAD.

These Banana Oatmeal Cookies are very simple to make and filled with banana flavor.

I am literally a marketer's dream because each and every time I see someone I know loving a sip, or even simply denying their favorite brand and flavor using a boomerang on Instagram, I am all,"Maybe you will actually taste acceptable!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the term enjoying cause I think it is difficult to think this stuff is really enjoyable in almost any sense of the term.

And spoiler alert. None of them taste great. None.

Even the ones that people claim are mild really are a huge contraceptive for me personally. They still taste just like freaking bubbly vinegar.

I am basically sure that anybody who drinks this brewed tea material has zero taste buds, or severely awesome ones.

I have literally tried each and every brand that my local marketplace conveys and I HATED, maybe not overdone, HATED every single one.

While I am not claiming these banana oatmeal biscuits will be the least bit healthy (because hello sugar and butter), I am claiming that they are delicious.

They have the ideal quantity of banana taste and a lovely chewy texture as a result of its oats. The chocolate chips are simply an additional bonus.

I enjoy these cookies somewhat about the undercooked side, therefore that I bake them for 9 or 10 seconds. If you prefer them to be cooked through, I would take for 10-11 seconds.

I'll mention that the oats makes them look like a breakfast cookie, so they are all kinds of amazing having a cup of tea or coffee first thing in the afternoon.

I did add some chopped peppers into a batch rather than chocolate chips, however, everyone definitely preferred the chocolate chips on the nuts.



My friend Amber would ask,"¿por que no los dos?" , which apparently means"why not both?" (She is from Texas, so that I trust that she's true ), and you can absolutely do that also.

These biscuits are a great way to use up those super ripe bananas sitting on your counter tops at this time. I won't even tell anybody that they're not actually breakfast biscuits. Enjoy!

BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES



PRINT RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup unsalted butterat room temperature



1 large egg

3/4 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)

1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 tsp ground cinnamon





DIRECTIONS:



From the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large bowl using an electric mixer, beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about my website 3 minutes.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and blend in the egg until fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add the skillet and vanilla.



Gently add the the flour mixture to the banana mixture and mix until just combined.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and stir to recombine.



Use a medium cookie scoop (about 1.5 tablespoons) to scoop the dough on prepared cookie sheets leaving about two inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then gently press on the tops of each cookie with the bottom of a drinking glass. Since these cookies don't spread considerably, this will help give them a conventional cookie shape.
